Three things vary by region: the unit the band is measured in (inches vs. centimeters), how far the band number gets rounded, and which letters the cup ladder uses past D. The physical measurement underneath never changes.

A Real Conversion Example
Say your measurements give you a US 34C. In the UK, that’s the same 34C.
The US and UK share cup letters up through D. Move to France, Spain, or Belgium and the band converts to centimeters (roughly 34in × 2.54 + 16, rounded to the nearest 5, giving 92cm), while the cup letter shifts one step earlier in that system’s ladder.
In Japan, the band is closer to your raw underbust in centimeters, with no added padding to the number at all. None of these differences mean your body changed. Only the label describing it did.
This is exactly why “just add two sizes for European brands” style advice you’ll see repeated online is unreliable. The real conversion depends on which specific system a brand is using, not a flat rule of thumb.
