How Singapore Sizing Actually Works
There’s no single native Singaporean standard. Imported brands keep their home-market system, whether that’s US inches, UK inches with extended cups, or an Asian raw-cm approach.
Local and regional Asian brands more often follow the raw-cm approach seen in Japan and Korea, while Western brands keep their original inch-based sizing.
Convert Your Size
Use the calculator above to see your size across all 7 systems this site supports, Singapore included. If you already know your size in another system, enter it into the Global Bra Size Converter instead of doing the math by hand.
Getting an Accurate Starting Point
A conversion is only as good as the numbers going into itHow to Measure walks through the exact method used here, and the Sister Size Calculator can help if the result doesn’t feel like a perfect match.
A Worked Example: Shopping in Singapore
Say your measurements convert to a US 34DDD. If you’re buying an American brand, ask for exactly that.
If the label is European, convert to roughly 100cm band, F cup using the Global Size Converter. If it’s an Asian import, expect a band closer to 85cm with a similar cup letter. The tag’s country of manufacture is your best clue for which conversion applies.
Shopping Locally vs. Importing in Singapore
Singapore’s retail scene mixes brands from the US, UK, and across Asia in the same malls, so this is one of the markets where checking the specific brand’s own chart matters most.
Common Sizing Mistakes Shoppers Make in Singapore
Singapore shoppers sometimes average together conversions from two different systems when a size falls in between, instead of trusting the single correct formula for that brand’s actual home system.
Shoppers here also sometimes trust a friend’s recommendation for a specific mall retailer without accounting for the fact that store-specific stock can vary from the brand’s general chart.
A Note on Retail Fitting in Singapore
Singapore’s shopping malls typically offer fitting consultations across the wide mix of international brands available, useful given how many different systems appear side by side.
Singapore’s International Retail Mix
Singapore’s retail market carries brands from the UK, US, Australia, and various Asian countries side by side, so checking a specific brand’s country of origin is more useful than assuming one dominant local standard.
A Regional Shopping Hub With Global Brand Access
Singapore’s retail sector serves as a major hub for international brands across Southeast Asia, offering access to a wide range of sizing conventions in one compact, highly accessible market.
Climate Influences Popular Style Choices
Singapore’s consistently warm, humid climate shapes which styles and fabrics are most popular locally (lighter, more breathable options), which is worth knowing when comparing local retail selection to markets with more seasonal variation.
Air-Conditioned Retail Culture Shapes Shopping Habits
Singapore’s year-round warm climate combined with extensive air-conditioned mall culture means in-person fitting remains genuinely practical and comfortable year-round, unlike markets with more seasonal shopping patterns.
